ATAPC is a unit of Sri Vedhagireeswarar Educational Trust. This institution was founded on August 15, 1984 with the noble cause of imparting knowledge to the rural students. The institution has been making its move towards excellence under the guidance and management of the trustees of sri Vedhagireeswarar Eductional Trust Thiru. Anoor P.G.Jegadeesan, Chairman, Thiru.J. Gowthamchand, Treasurer , Thiru D. Adalarasu, Secretary, Thiru T. Madhavan Vice President, Thiru T. Gopinathan, Joint Secretary , Thiru Arul Anbarasu, Deputy Secretary. ATAPC has been recognised as one of the best polytechnic colleges in the state. The institution offers Diploma courses in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.

This institution is functioning with state of the art infrastructure. It has spacious classrooms, well equipped laboratories and duly furnished workshops. The college has a central library with a large collection of text and reference books.
